The Visit

Overall, the visit went really well. Well, if you ignored all my mother's cuts and jabs at the hedgehogs and cats and me. But they thought the house looked great and they liked the lights and paint colors I picked out. They left for Maine this AM and will be back on Friday. Mom and I are going to have to have a little talk. Really, singing "Born Free" and encouraging my cat to run away is just *NOT* funny to anyone but her. But now I'm over sharing and off topic. So back to the hedgehogs. I've the first group of moms-to-be in their mommy cages and I'm waiting for them to pop. Some of the ladies in this batch are old and on their last litter and others are known for not taking care of their babies and are on their last shot (foster moms are standing by). A few of the moms belong to Stasi of Terrapin Hedgehogs and are here to breed with my boys to strengthen certain colors in both of out lines. Likewise, some of her boys are here breeding with my girls. My hedgehog room overfloweth!

The last few litters from our last round of births are getting closer to weaning. As litters are weaning and moving out of the birthing bins, new moms are moving in. This place is just crazy with hedgehogs (and I love it)!
