Hedgehog Stew?

French animal rights' activists are up in arms over a recipe book that is due to hit the shelves for Christmas.It features a recipe for hedgehog stew, despite the fact the spiky mammal is a protected species in France. Animal protection groups have gone to the courts to stop the book being published. They are challenging the right author's right to tell hunters how to cook up an endangered animal.

I'm just not even sure what to think about this. It's definitely wrong to kill an endangered animal. Although if your walking down the street and you find a dead hedgehog, why not stew it up? It's sorta funny in that 'Fierce Creatures' - Blackened hedgehog on a stick kind of way. But really, I'm kidding. Endangered hedgehog isNOT an appetizing dish.
