Hamor Hollow's Color Guide
This is a basic guide to deciphering the hedgehog colors we offer. The most common and most popular colors are listed to illustrate that not every dark-colored hedgie is a Salt and Pepper.
TODOTODO: Lots of other “official” colors. List those as Google Juice.
The Chocolate Colors
The Cotty Colors
OAK BROWN - This color is kind of a milk chocolate meets sun kissed ginger snaps, with up to 30% all white quills mixed in. It's too close to cinnicot to be chocolate and to close to chocolate to be cinnicot. Sometimes you will see chocolate and/ or cinnicot quills mixed in. This is by far my favorite hedgehog color.
CINNICOT - Quills are a cinnamon/ orange color with up to 30% all white quills mixed in. Eyes are Garnet red to deep Garnet/ almost black; nose and ears are pink.
APRICOT - Quills are a pale to bright apricot color with up to 30% all white quills mixed in. Eyes are Ruby red to garnet red, nose and ears are pink.
CHAMPAGNE - The Lightest of all the cotty colors, the spines have an almost buff yellow color, with up to 30% all white qulls mixed in. Eyes are strawberry pink to ruby red, nose and ears are pink.
Albino
Albino - 100% white quills and no pigmentation. Eyes are a brilliant strawberry pink; ears and nose are a pale pink. Albinos are extremely friendly and contrary to popular belief, they do not have any additional health issues.
Patterns - Available in all colors
PINTO - One or more concentrated white 'pinto' markings. The degree of and location of pintoing will vary between hedgehogs with those more pinto being referred to as 'Uber Pintos'.
UBER-PINOTO - Refers to a hedgehog with more then one large pinto spot that covers at least 40% of the body. Some uber pintos may have pinto markings on their face, and rarely one pinto eye has been seen.
SNOWFLAKE - 50% or more all white quills mixed in with the color of your choice. Face, ears, and eyes match the descrition of the non-white color.
WHITE - 95% or more all white quills mixed in with the color of your choice. Face, ears, and eyes match the descrition of the non-white color.
