Holiday Tidy-ing

Today was cleaning day, and all the hedgehogs needed their cages to be cleaned before the festivities of the days ahead. We have lots of moms and with all of them doing their motherly 'duties', the hedgehog room can get really funky really quickly! Cleaning day is also a good day to look over all the moms and babies and make sure everyone is getting their needs met. I have to say that I am very proud of the excellent job our moms are doing with their litters and the high caliber of babies they are producing. Looking over all my litters (and seeing them back to back) gave me a real appreciation for how far I have come as a breeder and the high quality of both the hedgehogs that are being born here and the hedgehogs I have gotten from my fellow breeders.

The colors of our upcoming litters are nothing short of amazing! We have some serious dark Algerian gray and possibly some that may be dark enough to be considered Algerian black even after their primary quilling is complete. We also have some stunning bright cotty colors that are just spectacular, and über-pintos in every color from Dark Gray to bright orange.

This breeding season is our best yet, and we know that things can only get better from here. This year has been such a busy and exciting year for me and the hedgehogs, and we have had a wonderful time meeting everyone and helping you get your new pets.
